Eibach Meet 2009

•May 18, 2009 • Leave a Comment

It was my first time going to Eibach and the quality of the cars was very impressive. There were quality builds to be seen everywhere alongside a plethora of quality parts. I thought MF10s were a rare sight to see in Houston but I counted at least 10 sets while at Eibach. I wish I had a wider lense since there were a lot of people walking back and forth between the cars and it was difficult to get the shots I wanted. A quick shout out to my wonderful girlfriend for buying me that drink! That shit was good as hell in the heat. Anyways, let’s just move onto the pictures. No lame comments this time.

Gahhhh, yellow recaros.

I think one of my favorite cars at the event would have to be the white EK on the Work Meisters with the Airwalker bumper and the purple 510 on reverse meshies. Both are beautiful builds.

As always, you can find the full size photos on my flickr: flickr.com/omgodzilla. There are about 170 full-sized photos for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy and take care!

Hella Flush x Venice

•May 17, 2009 • 1 Comment

Greetings from California, I’ve been here since Thursday. I am supposed to hanging out with some family members I’ve never met but they said I can do whatever. So, I called up a friend who lives near them and I’ve been chilling with him so far. This trip has consisted mainly of watching martial arts flicks, cough medicine, and sleeping in a sleeping bag. Sick. My friend and I made the trek to Venice Beach today to check out the Hella Flush meet. After getting lost and asking a very nice G35 driver, we found our way. Due to all the traffic and us getting lost, we arrived a little late so there was not a super high number of cars there. There were a lot of Subarus and thankfully, I only saw one set of Rota TE37 knockoffs. No offense to the Subaru dudes lol. Okay we here we go:

Hella FlushThings were off to a good start.

Hella FlushTwo different styles of VW tuning but good stance is a universal language.

Hella FlushHella Flush
Speaking of stance, this SC had it on lock.

Hella FlushThis Civic was rocking Spoon calipers behind 16″ Regas. Clean and simple.

Hella FlushI think that is a Vertex kit on this IS. I think.

Hella FlushGreat stance on this Impreza!

Hella FlushMy reflection totally ruins this shot.

Hella FlushSquatting like a bulldog.

I like how the owner put the more aggressive wheel in the front where it belongs on a FF car.

Hella FlushA random motorcyclist on the way home.

As always, you can find the full set at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/omgodzilla/3537253911/sizes/m/in/set-72157618212694033/

Tomorrow, I am jetting off to Eibach. I’m excited. Take care.

Man, I miss my car.

Yay, loading docks!

I met up with a coworker today to take some pictures of his car. It seems like the only people I shoot for are coworkers. I wonder if that old lady at work needs pictures of whatever an old lady may need pictures of. Anyways, we wound up at a location that has never been done before in the history of automotive photography: a loading dock.

Yay loading docksSuper epic.

That is the only picture I’ve done so far but the rest are turning out okay. Now I need to add a thick border and some nasty huge watermark. Then, it will be posted on various car forums in no time.

I Should Be Sleeping

When my family first came to America, I remember my dad buying this Toyota Previa as our first car. It was that dark purple and looked pretty much like a grape on wheels. About a year after buying it, he put some mesh wheels on it. At first, I thought it was hideous considering the fact that they were gold and the car was purple. At the time, I didn’t know what wheels they were because I was so young but as I grew up, I clearly remembered the center caps. They were BBS wheels and now I know that they were definitely BBS RS. My dad was rocking some BBS RS wheels on a Previa back in 1994! There is a picture of the van floating around somewhere in this house, I must find it!

Timeless
It was pretty much like this but with a purple Previa instead of a black Mazda MPV.
Also, my dad wasn’t a rapper.

HIN Austin 2009

•April 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I recently went to Austin for HIN again and this year, it was so-so. Gloomy weather combined with my late arrival meant that the pictures came out pretty bad (like they are ever good in the first place), and I just ended up walking around. I went down to 6th St, that was kind of cool but it’s just not my scene. Dark, dismal warehouses on the wrong side of the train tracks are much better!

Anyways, here are some lame photos:

Team 5 Star was looking pretty gewts.IMG_1543

Good to see Laz’s old bumper go to a good home. CPR+BYS=Win.

IMG_1562

Whoa.

IMG_1563

This Onevia caught my attention instantly.

However, I wish it had more camber in the rear than the front.

IMG_1566

I would seriously hate to clean these.

Another car that caught my eye. I would love to see this car on some Regas.

IMG_1602God, I love simple cars that get their point across.I’ve been trying to convince my girlfriend to buy MF10s for her TSX so I can rock them on my car instead.

John’s new graphics are very creative and we might see a influx of cars with “ghost” vinyl in the future.

IMG_1658A bunch of white people watching a small amount of black dudes.

A coworker needed some shots for his artist profile so I happily obliged. It was my first time shooting an actual human being instead of the usual peeping at the neighbor’s window.

I can’t post up anymore but I don’t think anybody wants to see these amateur shots anyway.

My favorite shot of the day was actually just a snap shot of him and his son.

So I haven’t been on the internet in about 3 weeks due to having to take care of my girlfriend. She just had surgery on her 3rd and 4th boobs. The doctors advised that she take it easy on the lifting but I swear she believes she is a paraplegic and refuses to lift, carry, or hold anything. It’s like the scene in Talladega Nights where Will Ferrell believes that he can’t walk so Michael Clarke Duncan has to tell him that he can. Then Will Ferrell ends up stabbing himself in the leg. Yeah, just like that; but without the stabbing.

Louis CK speaking the truth. I see examples of this everyday.

I went to this “dumpt” meet the other day and it was pretty fail. Here is what almost every car had:

Rota/Sportmax wheels
Shocker sticker
Tow hooks
Sagging bumpers
Fading paint

Seems like the quality of the Honda game in Houston these days is slipping more and more sadly. I wish Laz still had his car, Andrew still had that hatch, and I still had the Xa. At least some of the Hella Soul cats were and there. I ended up taking like 3 photos so here is one of Sambo’s herra frush Impreza.

Sam, hit me up for a photoshoot!
