Perfection

Such a dynamic and timeless design.

For those who don’t know, I have been in love with the Mclaren F1 before I could even speak English. Its design is just captivating and I could spend countless hours studying it. There hasn’t been a car since that has invoked the same emotions in me as this one. This photo was taken by my favorite automotive photographer, John Brooks. No fancy studio set ups, no complicated off-camera lighting or extraneous editing; this just the pure art of capturing the raw essence of motorsports.

Keep a look out for the first in a series of design study posts that I hope you guys will enjoy.

  1. carbon fiber, kevlar, titanium, gold, and magnesium, compositions of heavenly proportions! The finest well engineered driving machine.

  2. Hell Yes.

  3. Also one of my favorites. I’m really disappointed by the new McLaren’s design – looks very generic, unlike the awesome F1.

  4. Wow you guys actually like this stuff………..all shot manually and on film………..the old eyes don’t allow that now. But you are right the Long tailed F1 GTR was a thing of beauty

    • Mr. Brooks,

I am a huge fan of your work. Thank you for capturing motorsports the way you do. Do you have an archive of images you have taken over years available online somewhere? I would love to look through your previous work.
